About the role

Manager, Software Engineer at Conga leads a cross‑functional AI team in Bangalore, driving the design, development, and production of AI/ML solutions that power the Conga Advantage Platform. The role requires 8+ years of software engineering experience, 3+ years managing teams, and deep expertise in SDLC, MLL, and AI/ML lifecycle. Responsibilities include setting AI strategy, building feature stores, distributed training, model versioning, monitoring, and responsible AI practices. The manager collaborates with product, data science, and DevOps to integrate models into real‑time and batch applications, using Python, Java, C#, Scala, GCP, TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, and CI/CD tools. Strong leadership, communication, and Agile facilitation skills are essential, as is a commitment to mentorship, quality, and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Lead and mentor software engineering team on AI/ML solutions.
• Drive AI/ML strategy, roadmap, and platform development.
• Oversee productionization of ML models into real‑time and batch apps.
• Collaborate with product, data science, and DevOps to deliver features.
• Guide cross‑functional teams through Agile ceremonies and code reviews.
• Ensure high‑quality software via CI/CD, testing, and design patterns.
• Champion responsible AI practices, model explainability, and fairness.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Mentor engineers, foster growth, and conduct performance reviews.
• Communicate progress and risks to senior leadership.

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years software engineering, 3+ years team management.
• Deep understanding of SDLC and MLL.
• Lead AI/ML strategy, roadmap, and platform development.
• Productionize ML models, integrate into real‑time and batch apps.
• Expertise in Python (preferred), Java, C#, Scala.
• Strong knowledge of GCP, BigQuery, GKE, GCS, DataFlow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI.
• Proficient with TensorFlow, PyTorch, MLflow, scikit-learn, HuggingFace.
• Skilled in IaC and CI/CD: Terraform, GitHub Actions, Concourse, Ansible.
• Excellent leadership, decision-making, communication skills.
• Experience with AI product lifecycle: experimentation, governance, release management.

Nice to have

• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with Java/Spring.
