Manager Software Engineering – AI Engineering Excellence

About the role

Sabre’s AI Engineering Excellence team drives the agentic revolution in travel by embedding AI-native practices into enterprise software development. As Manager Software Engineering, you lead high-performing teams while establishing governance, standards, and adoption strategies for AI-assisted coding and autonomous agents across the SDLC. This full-time role is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.

What you’ll do

• Define and execute AI engineering adoption strategy across software development teams.
• Establish governance frameworks for secure, compliant use of AI-generated code.
• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineers and technical leads.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership through architecture and code reviews.
• Guide teams in integrating Generative AI services and agentic workflows.
• Own successful delivery of complex software initiatives across multiple teams.
• Design and execute AI capability development programs for engineers.
• Drive continuous improvement of SDLC processes through automation and AI.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related discipline.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership with direct people management responsibilities.

Nice to have

• Proven experience leading distributed Agile engineering teams.
• Demonstrated success delivering complex cloud-native and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted platforms like GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, RAG architectures, and prompt engineering.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and modern software delivery.
