About the role
Progress seeks a Senior Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership for the ShareFile platform evolution. The role involves driving architecture roadmaps, championing AI-enabled SDLC practices, and mentoring senior engineers across distributed teams. This position is based in India.
What you’ll do
- Own and drive the architecture roadmap for critical ShareFile services
- Design and build highly scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable cloud-native and hybrid solutions
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted software development across the SDLC using tools like GitHub Copilot
- Lead architecture reviews and make critical technology decisions across products and platforms
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Senior and junior engineers
- Partner with Product Management to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Define engineering standards, architectural patterns, and best practices
- Influence engineering decisions across multiple teams without direct authority
What you’ll bring
- 14+ years of professional software development experience
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET / .NET Core, Distributed systems, REST APIs, Microservices architecture
- Deep experience with cloud platforms AWS (preferred) or Azure
- Experience implementing AI-based developer productivity solutions
Nice to have
- Strong experience designing and building large-scale SaaS and enterprise platforms
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, Observability platforms
- Demonstrated success leading multi-team technical initiatives
- Extensive experience with security-first software development practices
