About the role
POS Application Platform (POS Platform) at Moniepoint builds the operating system for all POS engineering, providing standards, tooling, and architecture across device fleets. The Head of Engineering defines technical strategy, leads platform pillars—developer experience, reliability, frameworks, and adoption—writes code 40‑60% of time, and scales the team globally. Remote, Bangalore, Remote work model.
What you’ll do
- Own technical strategy and architecture for POS platform
- Lead and mentor platform engineering team
- Define and enforce engineering standards across device types
- Drive developer experience tooling and SDKs
- Ensure platform reliability via observability and incident response
- Collaborate with OEM partners and hardware teams
- Write and review code regularly
- Scale processes, CI/CD pipelines and metrics
What you’ll bring
- 10+ years software engineering
- 6+ years engineering leadership
- Hands‑on Android development in Kotlin/Java
- Experience with EMV, PCI/DSS, P2PE
- Built internal engineering platforms
- Managed multi‑OEM POS device fleets
- Fintech payments experience
- Strong coding contribution 40‑60%
