About the role

RSM US Integrated Services India Private Limited’s Real Estate Tax practice in Bengaluru builds tax strategies for real estate owners, developers, and REITs. The Senior Manager leads complex tax return reviews, client relationship management, and staff development while driving growth and profitability. Bengaluru, On-site, with occasional travel.

What you’ll do

• Provide detailed second and final level review of tax returns for real estate funds, REITs, and corporate blockers
• Detail reviewing and analysis of state and local tax returns, composite and withholding filings
• Lead and manage business relationships of complex engagements
• Drive growth and profitability by generating new revenue on existing client portfolio
• Interact directly with clients handling questions, planning, consulting
• Serve as Tax client service coordinator and develop client service plan
• Build relationships across lines of business to ensure excellent client service
• Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years business taxation experience in real estate
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• CPA or EA
• Prior tax compliance & consulting experience serving real estate clients
• Ability to support financial growth efforts and manage a book of business
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Nice to have

• Simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams
• Project management and critical thinking skills
• Working knowledge of tax code and technical aspects of tax preparation
• Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation
• Experience preparing or reviewing accounting for income taxes in accordance with ASC 740
• Experience in dealing with international tax matters
• Experience in dealing with real estate debt matters
