About the role
Thermo Fisher Scientific – Mechanical Engineering team develops sophisticated scientific instruments and laboratory equipment to improve global health, safety, and environmental outcomes. As a Mechanical Engineer II you will design, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems and components, create specifications, conduct CAD modeling, FMEA, and support manufacturing and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle. Hyderabad, India – fully onsite.
What you’ll do
- Develop system and component specifications based on customer needs
- Create and optimize designs using CAD, trade‑off analysis, and FMEA
- Maintain approved manufacturers lists and complete Engineering Change Orders
- Provide design‑for‑manufacturability input to operations
- Ensure designs meet global regulatory and safety standards
What you’ll bring
- BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 8+ years experience in mechanical design and evaluation
Nice to have
- Proficient with SolidWorks or Creo CAD
- Experience with PLM software
