Principal Cloud Developer, AI/ML

About the role

HPE Cloud Engineering team builds enterprise-grade, AI-enabled cloud-native platforms. The Principal Cloud Developer leads architecture, engineering, and operational excellence of data‑intensive applications, driving AI/ML model deployment, MLOps, and generative AI use cases. Bengaluru, India, hybrid (2 days onsite per week).

What you’ll do

• Own end‑to‑end architecture and technical roadmap for AI‑enabled enterprise apps
• Design scalable, secure cloud‑native solutions for data and AI workloads
• Lead architecture reviews, technical governance, and technology selection
• Drive engineering best practices: TDD, CI/CD, MLOps/LLMOps
• Architect data platforms, APIs, microservices, and AI service integration
• Operationalize AI/ML models: deployment, monitoring, drift detection, retraining
• Establish observability, reliability, incident response for software and AI systems
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across teams

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years software engineering
• 5+ years architecture or technical leadership
• Proficiency in Java, Python or Go
• Strong OOAD, design patterns, microservices
• API design with REST/JSON/Swagger
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle
• Linux/Unix performance optimization
• AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit‑learn
