Senior Software Engineer - Test

About the role

Freshworks seeks a Senior Software Engineer in Test to own automation strategy and test architecture for its CX/EX software. You will build scalable UI/API frameworks, implement AI-enabled quality gates, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines. This full-time role is based in Hyderabad, India, with a Hybrid work model.

What you’ll do

• Own and evolve the entire testing lifecycle including strategy, tools, and automation ROI
• Build scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and microservices
• Implement quality assurance with AI-enabled architecture
• Implement quality gates across SDLC and drive shift-left testing practices
• Partner with Dev and DevOps teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines
• Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, stability, and developer confidence
• Review test code and guide debugging and root cause analysis
• Implement performance, non-functional, and cross-browser testing initiatives

What you’ll bring

• 4-6 years of experience in QA automation and engineering
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• Expertise in Playwright/Typescript for UI & API automation
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch
• Ability to work within an AI-enabled architecture
• Deep understanding of STLC, Test Management, and Test Strategy
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Competence in manual testing and debugging distributed systems
