About the role
HPE’s ACX platform team develops next‑generation access and aggregation routers for metro and 5G networks. The System Software Engineer III designs and implements L2 protocols (STP, ERPS, 802.1x, EVPN Vxlan, DCI) in JunOS/Junos EVO, collaborates with product management and testing teams, and supports critical customer escalations. What you’ll do
- Design and implement L2 protocol features in JunOS/Junos EVO
- Collaborate with product management and testing teams
- Provide engineering assistance for customer escalations
- Develop and debug user‑space and kernel components
- Ensure high‑quality product delivery
What you’ll bring
- BS/MS in CS/CE or related field
- 6+ years software development
- Proficient in C/C++
- Experience with L2 protocols (STP, ERPS, 802.1x, EVPN Vxlan, DCI)
- Unix/Linux systems, kernel and socket programming
- Analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of TCP/UDP/IPv4/IPv6
