Senior Revenue Accountant

About the role

Finance Revenue Accounting team at Toast builds and maintains the company’s global revenue recognition processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will analyze revenue transactions, prepare journal entries, and drive cross‑functional improvements across NetSuite and Zuora Revenue, collaborating with Billing Operations and FP&A. Chennai, hybrid role with 2 days onsite per week.

What you’ll do

• Analyze revenue transactions to ensure accuracy and proper accounting treatment
• Prepare monthly revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and analyses
• Collaborate with GL Accounting, Billing Operations, and FP&A for month‑end close
• Drive cross‑functional projects and process improvements in revenue accounting
• Support design and implementation of revenue controls in NetSuite and Zuora
• Draft documentation and whitepapers on revenue policies and controls
• Participate in system migration, automation, and integration initiatives

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in any area
• 5+ years revenue recognition or accounting in SaaS/technology
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606
• Advanced Excel for large data sets
• Hands‑on experience with Zuora Revenue, NetSuite, and Salesforce
• Willingness to work UK time zones (2 PM‑11 PM IST)

Nice to have

• SQL/Sequel experience
• Professional certification such as CPA or CA
• System implementation or ERP migration experience
• Process automation expertise
