Senior Lead QA Engineer

About the role

Senior Lead QA Engineer at LSEG responsible for shaping performance testing strategy for FX trading systems. Leads a team of QA engineers, designs and executes load, soak, stress, and throughput tests, and develops Java‑based tooling. Requires deep knowledge of trading system architectures, performance testing tools Gatling and JMeter, and BDD frameworks like Cucumber‑java. Must have 8‑10 years senior testing experience, strong Java, Spring, Kafka, Redis, ELK, Datadog, SQL/NoSQL, AWS/Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux shell scripting. Works with multi‑functional teams across global locations, ensuring high‑quality releases and NFR benchmarks. What you’ll do

• Shape performance testing strategy for robust and scalable backend systems on multi dealer FX Platform.
• Lead a team of QA engineers focused on performance testing.
• Design and execute comprehensive performance test suites including soak, load, stress testing, and throughput analysis.
• Work closely with multi-functional teams to deliver innovative testing solutions.
• Develop and maintain NFR calculations and performance benchmarks for trading systems.
• Drive development of test engineering tooling using Java for the entire QA organization.

What you’ll bring

• Good understanding of trading systems architectures and how to effectively test them for performance and scalability.
• Excellent knowledge of QA principles for both Functional and Non-Functional testing.
• Expert-level proficiency with performance testing tools such as Gatling and JMeter.
• Strong experience in defining and implementing performance test strategies, including soak testing, load testing, stress testing, and throughput analysis.

Nice to have

• Must have used Cucumber-java as framework for 3+ years to deliver BDD style automated test cases and writing cucumber glue code.
• Experience with Spring framework for building test reporting services and other test tooling.
• Understanding of Kafka, Redis, ELK stack, Datadog for monitoring and analyzing performance metrics.
• Experience with database performance testing and optimization (SQL and NoSQL databases).
• Have knowledge of AWS or Azure Cloud Environment.
• Understanding of docker and Kubernetes.
• Confident with Linux, including shell scripting.
