About the role

Mastercard Technology team builds and maintains enterprise data architecture for secure, scalable payment solutions. The Senior Software Engineer designs, develops, and optimizes Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, drives performance tuning, and implements cloud‑based automation and CI/CD pipelines. Works on‑site in Pune, collaborating with application teams and leading Agile/Scrum ceremonies to deliver reliable data services.

What you’ll do

• Define and implement scalable database architecture aligned with business requirements
• Design, develop, maintain, and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL solutions
• Analyze and improve SQL queries, stored procedures, and overall performance
• Implement database standards, security controls, and compliance measures
• Collaborate with application teams to enhance system availability and reliability
• Drive automation initiatives using AI‑assisted development tools
• Lead technical design discussions and continuous improvement processes
• Manage small to medium projects and facilitate Scrum ceremonies

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience in database design, data modelling, and performance optimization
• Expertise in Oracle or PostgreSQL
• Hands‑on experience with cloud providers and DevOps automation
• Proficiency in SQL tuning, indexing, and query optimization
• Experience with database security, backup, recovery, and high‑availability
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, AWS/Azure pipelines
• Knowledge of secure coding standards (OWASP, CWE)
• Experience in Java development or willingness to upskill
