About the role
Strategic Sourcing Engineer on Applied Materials' NPI MPM team, responsible for sourcing newly designed products, driving cost reduction and ensuring supply continuity. Leads RFQ processes, dual‑sourcing strategies, supplier qualification and cost analysis while collaborating with cross‑functional teams on NPI and pilot projects. Bangalore, India, on-site role with 10% travel and relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Initiate and manage RFQs, lead time and cost estimation requests
- Negotiate and award business to suppliers using existing supplier matrix
- Drive dual‑sourcing to ensure supply continuity and mitigate lead‑time risks
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define sourcing strategies for NPI and pilot projects
- Qualify supplier parts per inspection requirements for critical components
- Perform cost roll‑ups and analyze cost performance to meet product cost targets
- Present cost discrepancies and corrective actions to program executives and stakeholders
- Develop supplier selection processes and manage transition from NPI to volume manufacturing
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
- 5 years sourcing and supplier management experience
- Electrical/Electronics commodity experience
- Proficiency with Excel
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs
- Self‑starter with independent work capability
- Excellent presentation and people skills
