Product Engineering Specialist, Applied AI

About the role

Tech AI Innovation Lab at Cummins drives AI and Generative AI solutions across engineering. The Product Engineering Specialist designs, develops, validates and deploys AI/GenAI applications, leads proof‑of‑concepts to production, and builds reusable AI architecture and accelerators. Works on‑site in Pune, collaborating with engineering, product, IT and business stakeholders to embed AI into the product lifecycle and mentor teams on AI adoption.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop AI/GenAI solutions for product challenges
• Lead technical problem‑solving and provide recommendations
• Establish and scale the TechAI Innovation Lab environment
• Create reusable AI architecture, accelerators and best practices
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams for AI integration and deployment
• Mentor engineers and guide AI adoption across the organization
• Document technical solutions and drive continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years engineering experience
• Strong Python programming
