About the role

This role leads application development engineering initiatives at EXL, focusing on Azure-based data pipelines and cloud-native solutions. The Lead Assistant Manager will design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and DBT, ensuring data quality, governance, and performance. Collaborating with stakeholders, data analysts, architects, and DevOps teams, the candidate will translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, monitor and troubleshoot pipelines, and enforce documentation standards. Strong expertise in Azure services, SQL, Snowflake, and data transformation tools is required, along with experience in cloud data environments and large-scale datasets. The position supports hybrid work across EXL locations and requires a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or related field, with 5-10 years of data engineering experience.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines with Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, and DBT
  • Build and maintain data integration workflows from various sources to Snowflake
  • Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines for performance and reliability
  • Maintain data quality, governance, and documentation standards
  • Collaborate with data analysts, architects, and DevOps teams in a cloud-native environment

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in CS, Data Engineering, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in data engineering roles using Azure and Snowflake.
