About the role
Lead Assistant Manager responsible for overseeing the end‑to‑end accounts payable close cycle, vendor reconciliation, and audit readiness for a large insurance client. Drives monthly operating reviews, CFO presentations, and annual planning, ensuring accurate and timely invoice processing. Coordinates with internal stakeholders—assistant managers, senior executives, and peers—to resolve escalations and improve processes. Leads external interactions with onshore team managers and subject‑matter experts to align daily work plans. Requires strong GAAP knowledge, journal and reconciliation preparation, and regulatory reporting experience. Demonstrates excellent communication, time‑management, and analytical skills, while fostering a collaborative team environment. Holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and preferably a professional certification such as CPA, CFA, or Chartered Accountant.
What you’ll do
- Oversee AP close cycle and vendor reconciliation
- Ensure timely, accurate invoice processing
- Prepare and review annual planning and monthly operating reviews
- Present CFO reports and business commentary
- Escalate and resolve performance issues with senior executives
- Coordinate daily work plans with onshore managers and SMEs
- Drive process improvements and regulatory reporting compliance
- Train and support new joiners and senior staff
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2–4 years technical accounting or reporting experience
- Strong GAAP knowledge and journal preparation skills
Nice to have
- CPA, CFA, or Chartered Accountant certification
- Insurance accounting or US GAAP/IFRS regulatory reporting experience
