Regional Credit Manager

About the role

Axis Bank’s Retail Credit department seeks a Regional Credit Manager in Nashik to lead area credit operations for Asha loans. The role focuses on ensuring smooth credit appraisal processes, maintaining portfolio quality, and driving underwriting adherence across the region. This is an on-site position requiring 8-12 years of experience.

What you’ll do

• Ensure smooth functioning of credit appraisal activities and maintain TAT for Asha loan cases
• Build a quality portfolio by assessing informal income profiles and minimizing delinquency
• Drive adherence to underwriting policies, deviation frameworks, and regulatory guidelines
• Track portfolio health through early delinquency indicators and take corrective actions
• Gather local market intelligence on borrower behavior and emerging risk trends
• Collaborate with Business, Sales, and Ops teams to balance growth with quality
• Manage vendors including FI and technical agencies
• Lead, train, and develop the credit team

What you’ll bring

• Graduate or Post-Graduation (MBA/CA preferred)
• 8-12 years experience in retail credit
• Team handling experience
• Knowledge of credit, industry and product trends
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and norms
• Good communication skills in English and local language
