About the role
Caterpillar’s Large Power Systems Division seeks a Senior Associate Engineer in Bangalore to develop and maintain components for next-generation Gensets. The role involves driving cross-platform engineering, collaborating with operations and supply chain partners, and managing project execution for complex packaging solutions. This is an on-site position located in Bangalore, Karnataka.
What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain components for LPSD Gensets
- Collaborate with global suppliers and internal teams
- Manage project scope, schedule, and cost
- Support product test and validation activities
- Resolve design and manufacturing problems
- Ensure compliance with quality processes and timelines
- Coach team members and broaden professional network
- Create design proposals meeting customer requirements
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology
- Experience in component/system design and integration
- Knowledge of engine and genset systems (e.g., C15-C175)
- Proficiency in CREO, CAD tools, or custom programs
- Understanding of DFMEA and material selection
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
- Proven experience with NPI, NSI, NTI, CPI processes
- Experience with high/medium speed reciprocating engines
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
