About the role

Engineering Group, Software Engineering at Qualcomm leads IOT platform development across multiple chipsets. The Director drives end‑to‑end project lifecycles from software concept to product commercialization, coordinating Project Engineers, Technology Leads, and Product Marketing. Role is based in Hyderabad, India, on‑site work model, with responsibility for embedded system design, C/C++ development, Android/Linux drivers, and CI/CD pipelines.

What you’ll do

• Define project technical strategy and roadmap
• Oversee full software development lifecycle for chipset solutions
• Mentor and guide Project Engineers and Technology Leads
• Coordinate with product marketing for customer commercialization
• Ensure compliance with SOC bring‑up and system integration standards

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years software engineering experience
• 7+ years with Master's degree or 6+ years with PhD
• 4+ years programming in C/C++/Java/Python
• Hands‑on embedded systems development
• Experience with Android/Linux/Windows for embedded products
• Strong communication and analytics skills
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Bachelor's or higher in Electronics, Computer Science or related field

• Lead multiple IOT projects simultaneously
• Design, implement, deploy, and support embedded software stacks
• Collaborate across technology, marketing, and business teams
