About the role
Design Engineer role at Freudenberg involves designing NVH products using ProMaP workflow, ensuring compliance with design guidelines, DFM, D2C, and global VC Engineering tools. Responsibilities include root cause analysis, documentation of CAD/FEA deliverables, GD&T drawings, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Candidates should hold an engineering degree (Bachelor or Master in Mechanical, Industrial or Design Engineering) with >3 years experience, knowledge of NVH, rubber materials, nonlinear FEA, and familiarity with ProMaP.
What you’ll do
- Design of NVH products based on specification of requirements (SOR) along the VC ProMaP workflow from the pre-RFQ phase to SOP
- Comprehensive knowledge of and working in compliance to design guidelines, standards and best practice portfolios; implement and support innovative solutions
- Part design in respect to robustness, feasibility (DFM) and design to cost (D2C) using global VC Engineering tools - considering the respective due dates
- Contribution to root cause analysis, definition of design counter measures and optimizations to fulfill the requirements
- Documentation of development results (e.g. 3D/2D CAD, FEA reports, durability predictions and ProMaP deliverables) according to internal standards - upload of deliverables to VC ProMaP
- Preparation of dimensioned drawings for components and assemblies considering GD&T at least until concept release
- Ongoing development of own professional skills regarding market trends, customer expectations and inhouse/supplier production processes
- Collaboration with other functional groups, e.g. Application Teams, Process Engineering, Testing etc.
- Support creation and update of internal guidelines and DVP specifications (templates)
- Participate in FMEA sessions
- Support patent activities of the BU
What you’ll bring
- Engineering degree (Master, Bachelor or Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial or Design Engineering or similar); Master preferable
- >3 years related work experience preferable
Nice to have
- Master preferable
- Knowledge in NVH and rubber materials preferable
- Experience in nonlinear FEA system preferable
