About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services team designs, plans, and operates global AWS data center infrastructure. As an ICT Design Engineer you will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, review submittals, manage risks, and support new technologies while traveling 10-20% to AWS sites. Mumbai, India, on-site role.
What you’ll do
- Develop pathway, space, and cabling designs
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling, and equipment submittals
- Identify and respond to risks and high‑priority issues
- Support new technology and design activities to improve infrastructure quality
- Travel 10-20% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission‑critical facilities
- Research new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment
- Experience in commissioning
- Professional Engineer license (preferred)
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations for the region (preferred)
- Ability to carry design concepts through development to deployment (preferred)
- Proficiency reading and creating construction drawings and specifications (preferred)
