About the role
DEIC-L&T Precision Engineering & Systems team designs and furnishes hull outfitting and accommodation systems. The role creates 3D models, detailed drawings, BOMs, and provides production support from concept through installation. Based in Chennai, on-site work at L&T facilities, collaborating with OEMs, procurement, and cross‑functional design teams.
What you’ll do
- Create 3D models for accommodation and outfitting items
- Develop basic and detailed designs with associated BOMs
- Draft SOTR and trial documents
- Interact with OEMs and procurement for technical clearance
- Coordinate inter‑department design clearances
- Support production with technical assistance during manufacturing and installation
What you’ll bring
- 2-5 years experience
- Proficiency in 3D modelling using Cadmatic
- Prepare layouts, detailed drawings and BOMs
- Draft specifications and trial documentation
- Evaluate OEM offers and coordinate procurement
- Collaborate with inter‑department design teams
- Provide technical assistance during manufacturing and installation
