About the role

Senior Associate, Solution Engineering (QA Engineer) – Pune, India. Western Union seeks an experienced QA engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for API and UI automation, ensuring quality of digital money transfer services. Responsibilities include collaborating with product teams, documenting defects in Jira, performing regression testing, and improving automation tools. Candidates must have 5+ years in functional and automation testing within Cards/Payment/Banking/Digital domains, hands‑on experience with Selenium, Java, SQL, Cucumber, TestNG, Extent, Rest Assured or Karate, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins. Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, BDD, TDD, and data‑driven frameworks is required, along with proficiency in Git, JIRA, Postman, Swagger, Splunk, and Confluence. Excellent communication skills and Agile experience are essential. Preferred qualifications include micro‑services testing, Spring‑boot Rest template, framework development from scratch, performance testing with LoadRunner, and ISTQB/SAFe certifications. What you’ll do

• Design, develop and execute automated test scripts for API and UI automation testing.
• Collaborate with business analysis/product teams to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Identify, document and track software defects in Jira and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Perform regression testing to ensure that existing functionalities are not impacted by new code changes.
• Well versed in Agile process and ceremonies.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to the team.
• Continuously improve the automation process and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience in functional and automation testing in Cards/Payment/Banking/Digital domain.
• Hands-on experience in UI automation testing using Selenium, Java, SQL, Cucumber, TestNG and automated reporting (Extent).
• Hands-on experience in API automation testing using Rest assured or Karate framework.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), JIRA, Postman, Swagger, Splunk, Confluence.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal with ability to seamlessly liaise with counterparts.

Nice to have

• Experience in testing micro-services, Spring-boot Rest template for API automation.
• Experience in framework development from scratch.
• Experience in performance testing and tools such as LoadRunner.
• ISTQB/SAFe certifications.
