About the role

AI/ML Engineering at Fortive drives enterprise-wide AI transformation, building and scaling generative AI, LLM, and agentic AI platforms. The Principal AI-ML Engineer defines technical vision, architecture, and governance for AI systems, leads complex cross‑functional programs, and mentors senior engineers. Works on‑site in Bengaluru, collaborating with senior business and technology leaders to shape AI strategy and impact.

What you’ll do

• Define enterprise AI technical vision and roadmap
• Architect large‑scale ML and LLM systems
• Establish standards for RAG, agentic AI, and model safety
• Lead MLOps platform development and governance
• Drive build‑vs‑buy decisions and vendor selection
• Mentor senior and staff engineers across AI org
• Partner with business leaders to prioritize AI investments
• Represent AI function in architecture governance forums

What you’ll bring

• 15+ years AI/ML experience
• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field
• Expertise in Python and software architecture
• Proven MLOps/LLMOps platform design
• Multi‑cloud experience (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Deep knowledge of responsible AI and security
• Leadership in AI strategy and governance
• Publications or patents in AI
