About the role
HSBC's Banking Platform Engineering team drives the Avaloq Banking System across private banking domains. The Associate Director, Software Engineering leads global engineering teams, overseeing end‑to‑end Avaloq delivery, architecture, automation and governance while partnering with the Head of Engineering. What you’ll do
- Lead global Avaloq engineering delivery across private banking domains
- Oversee design, development, testing and deployment lifecycle
- Drive automation strategy and DevOps practices
- Manage recruitment, talent development and team administration
- Partner with Head of Engineering on workforce strategy
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and governance
- Coordinate with stakeholders to prioritize and execute projects
- Mentor team to mature Agile practices

- 8-10 years Avaloq customization and implementation
- Strong development background
- Hands‑on Avaloq platform expertise
- Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
