Embedded Software Developer

About the role

Ingersoll Rand’s Engineering & Technology Center in Bangalore seeks an Embedded Software Developer to support the Controls and Software Testing Team. The role involves designing, coding, and debugging embedded software for compressor controllers using C/C++ and Linux OS. This position is based in Bangalore, India.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, code, test, and debug embedded software on microcontroller platforms
• Participate in software design and system architecture development
• Develop flowcharts, layouts, and technical documentation
• Produce well-commented, maintainable code following standards
• Develop and apply device drivers and work with Linux OS toolchains
• Use Python scripting for build automation and testing support
• Leverage AI tools to improve productivity
• Interface with cross-functional teams and provide post-production support

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience
• Strong understanding of C/C++ and embedded programming fundamentals
• Knowledge of microcontrollers and common peripherals
• Experience with device drivers and Linux OS

Nice to have

• Basic programming skills in Python or C/C++
• Familiarity with AI tools and prompt engineering
• Understanding of responsible AI techniques
• Knowledge of hardware schematics and PCB design basics
