Director Engineering, AI Software Stack

About the role

Qualcomm Engineering leads the AI software stack development for automotive and edge platforms. The Director defines the AI/ML roadmap, oversees end‑to‑end delivery of models to embedded devices, and builds and mentors multi‑disciplinary AI/ML engineering teams. Bangalore, India, on-site, hybrid work model with occasional remote days.

What you’ll do

• Define and own AI/ML technology roadmap
• Drive adoption of LLMs, multimodal and agentic AI systems
• Oversee model onboarding, optimization, validation and lifecycle management
• Build, mentor and scale AI/ML engineering teams
• Influence platform and silicon decisions

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years software engineering experience (or 2+ years with Master's, 1+ year with PhD)
• 20+ years people management experience

Nice to have

• AI/ML system design
• C, C++, Java, Python programming
• PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX frameworks
• Edge/embedded deployment (CPU/GPU/DSP/NPU)
• Leadership of multi‑disciplinary engineering teams
