Technical Product Owner

About the role

ZEISS India seeks a Technical Product Owner in Bengaluru to drive software requirements engineering for medical device products. This hybrid role focuses on backlog ownership and ensuring regulatory compliance through close collaboration with global cross-functional teams. The position is based in Bangalore.

What you’ll do

• Own and author clear, unambiguous, and testable software requirements derived from system needs
• Maintain and manage requirements documentation throughout the product lifecycle for consistency
• Collaborate with architects and developers to derive Detailed Software Requirements Specifications
• Ensure end-to-end traceability between requirements, design, implementation, and verification artifacts
• Manage the product backlog, prioritizing items aligned with the product roadmap and milestones
• Decompose requirements into features, epics, and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
• Support verification and validation activities by ensuring requirements are measurable and testable
• Act as a key interface between Product Management, Systems Engineering, Regulatory, and Quality teams

What you’ll bring

• 10+ years of experience in software development within the medical device industry
• Proven hands-on experience with requirements engineering and documentation (SRS, SWRS)
• Strong working knowledge of regulated software development lifecycles and design controls
• Hands-on experience using requirements management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or Codebeamer
• Experience working with cross-functional global teams including Product Management and Engineering
