Senior Engineer - Offshore Subsea Pipeline

About the role

Ramboll’s Energy – Solutions for Industry team seeks a Senior Engineer to design offshore pipelines and subsea cables for oil, gas, hydrogen, and CO2 projects. The role involves pipeline engineering, FEA analysis, cost estimating, and project support across feasibility to detailed design phases. Based in Chennai with hybrid work options including monthly onsite requirements in Hyderabad or Gurgaon.

What you’ll do

• Perform pipeline engineering, including client interfaces and third-party comment resolution
• Conduct pipeline FEA analysis and mechanical/installation design
• Design subsea power cables and manage related aspects
• Execute landfall design for pipelines and cables
• Prepare pipeline cost estimates and support proposals/tendering
• Write project reports and deliver presentations
• Cover all project phases from Feasibility to FEED and Detailed Design
• Provide site supervision as required

What you’ll bring

• Master’s degree in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering
• 6–10 years of relevant experience in offshore pipeline design
• Proficiency in pipeline design software such as SIMLA and OrcaFlex
• Knowledge of rigid and flexible pipeline systems
• Experience with natural gas, H2, and CO2 pipeline design
• Understanding of offshore pipeline mechanical design and standards (e.g., DNV)

Nice to have

• Proficiency in FEA tools and programming
• Experience exploring AI implementations
