Senior Engineer I - PCB Design

About the role

Copeland, a global climate technologies company, seeks a Senior Engineer I to design complex PCB layouts for variable speed drives and power electronics. The role involves translating schematics into optimized board designs while ensuring signal integrity, thermal management, and EMC compliance. This full-time position is based in Pune, India.

What you’ll do

• Develop complex PCB layouts for variable speed drives from concept to manufacturing release
• Translate schematics and technical requirements into optimized board designs
• Define layout rules, layer stack-ups, and controlled impedance requirements
• Apply best practices for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC performance
• Perform design checks and layout reviews for compliance with standards
• Prepare manufacturing data packages including fabrication outputs and assembly docs
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and test teams for design feasibility

What you’ll bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics or comparable field
• 5 years of practical experience in PCB layout and electronic product development
• Strong expertise with Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro
• Solid knowledge of layer stack-ups, controlled impedance, and high-speed routing
• Understanding of EMC-oriented layout, grounding, shielding, and thermal design

Nice to have

• Experience with DFM, DFT, and DFA requirements
• Familiarity with IPC standards and production documentation practices
• Proactive working style with attention to detail
• Mentoring capability and intercultural competence
