About the role
Balbix seeks a senior engineer to design, develop, and deploy large-scale data systems, mentor juniors, and optimize performance across cloud platforms.
What you’ll do
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, stakeholders
- Design, develop, deploy high-scale systems
- Build reliable, high-throughput data services
- Mentor junior developers and share knowledge
- Define best practices and guidelines
- Optimize and tune applications for performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
What you’ll bring
- 8+ years backend software development with large-scale data systems
- Proven experience in application design and architecture improvement
- Proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java
- Hands‑on with Apache Spark, Flink, Cassandra
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Bachelor's or Master's in CS, Engineering, or related field
Nice to have
- Deep knowledge of Apache Spark, Kafka, Trino, Scala
- Technical ownership of large-scale data systems
- Experience building large systems from scratch
- Containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes
- Contributions to open-source large-scale system projects
