About the role

YASH Technologies is seeking a Project Manager - Mainframe Technologies to lead mainframe application support and development initiatives. The role owns 24x7 production support, incident and change management, and full SDLC delivery for COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS, and MQ systems while providing technical oversight and team leadership. Based in Pune, MH, IN, the position requires 13–15+ years of mainframe experience and 5+ years in a managerial or lead role covering support and development.

What you’ll do

  • Own 24x7 production support for mainframe applications ensuring high availability and stability
  • Lead incident, problem, and change management for mainframe systems
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent fixes for recurring production issues
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, OLAs, and operational KPIs
  • Oversee batch cycles, online processing, and interfaces with distributed systems
  • Lead mainframe application development and enhancement initiatives across full SDLC
  • Review and approve technical designs, coding standards, and architectures
  • Provide technical leadership across COBOL, PL/I, Assembler, JCL, CICS, IMS, DB2, VSAM, MQ Series, and batch scheduling tools

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 13–15+ years of mainframe experience
  • 5+ years in a managerial or lead role covering support and development
  • Strong expertise in IBM Mainframe (z/OS)
  • Proven experience in application support AND development
  • Hands-on knowledge of COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ
  • Experience with batch scheduling tools (Control‑M, CA‑7, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing large, distributed teams

Nice to have

ITIL, Agile, or IBM Mainframe certifications preferred
