Principal Data Engineer (Python, Snowflake, AWS & DBT) - AI, Data & Platforms

About the role

Technology team at KKR builds and supports the firm’s data platforms, enabling analytics, reporting and advanced data science. The Principal Data Engineer designs, builds and maintains scalable data pipelines and platforms, collaborates with analysts and scientists, and ensures data quality and governance. Gurugram, 4 days in office, 1 day flexible (Hybrid).

What you’ll do

• Design and develop batch and real-time data pipelines
• Build and manage data ingestion frameworks
• Develop modular dbt transformations
• Ensure data quality, integrity and security
• Collaborate with analytics and data science teams
• Model data for reporting (dimensional, star/snowflake)
• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance
• Implement data governance and documentation

What you’ll bring

• 13+ years experience
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related
• Proficiency in SQL
• Strong Python skills
• Experience with dbt and ETL pipelines
• Data modeling and warehousing knowledge
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Version control and CI/CD

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouses
• Familiarity with streaming platforms (Kafka, Kinesis)
• Asset management domain experience
