Principal QA Software Engineer, Data Center Networking

About the role

Extreme Networks Data Center Networking team builds high‑performance IP fabric solutions for modern data centers and 5G environments. The Principal QA Software Engineer designs, develops and executes test plans, creates Python and Golang automation frameworks, and performs manual validation of L2/L3, EVPN/VXLAN and 5G architectures. Bangalore, hybrid work model, relocation assistance available.

What you’ll do

• Design and develop test plans for complex networking solutions
• Automate functional, regression and performance tests in Python/Golang
• Execute manual and exploratory testing of new features
• Analyze logs, packet captures and system behavior to debug issues
• Collaborate with engineering, QA and product teams for release quality
• Support CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing strategy
• Validate 5G and data center architectures for scalability and performance
• Maintain automation frameworks and test infrastructure

What you’ll bring

• 13+ years of software testing experience
• Strong Python programming
• Golang development (preferred)
• Data center networking (Leaf‑Spine, IP Fabric)
• BGP, EVPN, VXLAN protocol expertise
• 5G network validation experience
• Test automation frameworks (pytest, Robot)
• CI/CD pipeline tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
