About the role
Enterprise AI Architecture team at Caterpillar drives the design and scaling of AI-native solutions across the enterprise. The Principal Digital Architect defines target architectures, leads technology evaluation, and provides hands‑on guidance for large‑scale GenAI and ML workloads. Based in Bangalore or Chennai, India, this role works onsite five days a week with relocation assistance available.
What you’ll do
- Define and evolve enterprise AI reference architectures
- Design technical infrastructure for AI workloads
- Lead build‑vs‑buy decisions and PoC evaluations
- Ensure compliance with security, performance, and cost standards
- Provide architectural guidance and patterns to delivery teams
What you’ll bring
- 20+ years enterprise architecture
- Hands‑on design of large‑scale AI solutions
- Deep knowledge of GenAI, ML, RAG, agentic architectures
- Experience with cloud, distributed systems, CI/CD
- Strong stakeholder influence and communication
