Senior Finance Manager - SOX Testing

Wise is building the best way to move and manage the world’s money, aiming to make international payments easier and cheaper for everyone. As a Senior Finance Manager in Hyderabad, you will lead a dedicated SOX testing hub, executing end-to-end controls testing and managing a team of specialists. This hybrid role partners with global business owners to ensure audit-ready compliance and quality assurance.

What you’ll do

• Lead day-to-day execution of Design Effectiveness and Operating Effectiveness Testing for finance and operational cycles
• Directly manage, mentor, and coach a squad of SOX testing analysts
• Supervise external/co-sourced vendor testing teams to ensure adherence to methodology and quality standards
• Perform detailed QA reviews on control walkthroughs and sample testing for PCAOB/COSO compliance
• Lead discussions on control failures, agree on deficiency severity, and track remediation re-testing
• Adopt and embed data analytics, automated evidence extraction, and AI-enabled testing tools into daily procedures

What you’ll bring

• ~10–12 years hands-on experience in SOX 404 / ICFR business process controls testing
• 3+ years in a team leadership role within Big 4, global corporate, or tech environment
• Active CA, CPA, CIA, or equivalent professional certification, or an MBA
• Expert knowledge of PCAOB audit expectations and COSO framework
• Proven track record of reviewing workpapers and producing governance-ready documentation

Nice to have

• Demonstrable experience leading internal controls or audit teams on multiple assignments
• Experience preferably within Financial services
• Ability to thrive in a multi-time-zone, international team environment
