Staff Data and AI Engineer, Finance

About the role

Finance Data and AI team at Databricks builds the Finance DataLake and AI-driven finance applications. The role architects and owns complex finance data pipelines, leads AI use case design for forecasting and anomaly detection, and develops internal finance apps for self‑service. Based in Bengaluru, on‑site work model.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build complex finance data pipelines using Databricks Jobs and Lakeflow
• Lead technical design of AI use cases such as forecasting automation and anomaly detection
• Develop and maintain internal finance applications and dashboards
• Define and enforce data governance, security, and coding standards
• Mentor junior engineers and drive technical quality across the team
• Partner with finance stakeholders to translate requirements into solutions
• Ensure SOX compliance through version control and CI/CD processes
• Identify and resolve architectural debt and performance issues

What you’ll bring

• 12+ years data/analytics engineering experience
• Deep proficiency in SQL, Python, Apache Spark, and Databricks
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines from finance systems like Netsuite or Salesforce
• Strong understanding of finance and accounting concepts
• Ability to translate ambiguous finance requirements into technical solutions
• Experience with AI/ML concepts applied to finance workflows
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and SOX change management
• Experience building finance dashboards and self‑service BI
