About the role
Northern Trust's WM L1 Production Support team in Pune, India, seeks a Support Analyst to deliver day-to-day L1 production support for Wealth Management platforms and applications. The role handles incident triage, troubleshooting, monitoring, job scheduling, smoke testing, and escalation across a 24x7 global environment spanning APAC, EMEA, and North America. Work follows a Monday–Friday schedule with coverage rotation, and some night/weekend support may be required from time to time.
What you’ll do
- Provide L1 operational support for Wealth Management platforms and applications.
- Perform initial triage, troubleshooting, and resolution of production incidents and service requests.
- Conduct smoke testing (SOD/EOD/SOW/EOW/Weekend/DR/Release).
- Actively monitor incident queues and application monitoring tools (APV/Catchpoint/Dynatrace), taking action per SOP.
- Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 teams while ensuring proper communication and tracking.
- Monitor and manage job scheduling platforms such as Control-M or similar schedulers.
- Troubleshoot production issues including job failures and apply code fixes on a need basis.
- Handle static data updates using SQL or other methods, and maintain DR documentation while participating in annual exercises.
What you’ll bring
- 3+ years of experience in a technical business-facing role within a financial institution or similar environment (preferred).
- ITIL Certified.
- Cloud Certified.
- Knowledge of SQL (required).
- Knowledge of Control-M and scheduling applications (required).
- Knowledge of UNIX (required).
- Scripting and automation skills in Python, Perl, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as HP SiteScope, CA Introscope, Patrol, APV, Catchpoint, or Dynatrace.
Nice to have
- A College or University degree and/or relevant 2-6 years proven work experience; related industry qualification preferred (BCA/B.Sc. Computer Science).
- Experience in a technical business-facing (face-to-face) role within a financial institution or similar preferred.
- Knowledge of ITSM.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical issues in layman's terms.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Power BI and ServiceNow reporting tools.
- Experience troubleshooting production issues including job failures and applying code fixes as needed.
- Experience with smoke testing (SOD/EOD/SOW/EOW/Weekend/DR/Release).
