Enterprise Architect, Enterprise AI Platform & Governance

About the role

Enterprise AI Platform & Governance team at Smith & Nephew designs and governs enterprise-wide AI solutions. The Enterprise Architect defines AI architecture vision, standards, reference models and roadmaps, leads platform evaluations, and provides governance templates and playbooks. Based in Kharadi, Pune, India, hybrid work model (3 days onsite).

What you’ll do

• Define enterprise AI architecture vision, principles, standards and target‑state roadmap
• Create patterns for Generative AI, Agentic AI, RAG and AI operations
• Govern AI solution designs through Architecture Review Board and ensure compliance
• Develop scoring frameworks and evaluate AI platform vendors
• Establish integration standards linking AI platforms with ERP, CRM and data lakes
• Produce templates, playbooks and reference architectures for AI programmes
• Mentor solution architects and delivery leads on AI best practices
• Drive global consistency and reuse across AI initiatives

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems
• TOGAF certification
• Azure AI or Azure Solutions Architect certification
• 12+ years enterprise architecture or technology strategy experience
• 5+ years leading large-scale Enterprise AI initiatives
• Hands‑on experience with Azure AI, OpenAI, AWS AI or Google AI platforms
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA integration and enterprise integration architecture
• Manufacturing/MedTech domain experience
