Associate Director, Master Data Stewardship

About the role

Master Data Stewardship team at Merck drives data-driven decision making for global healthcare products. The Associate Director defines stewardship strategy, leads governance, and partners with business and technology leaders to ensure high‑quality customer master data across systems. Based in Hyderabad with a hybrid work model, the role also leads a team of stewardship professionals and champions automation and AI‑enabled processes.

What you’ll do

• Define and drive customer master data stewardship strategy and operating model
• Oversee governance, standards, and data quality initiatives for customer data
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to align stewardship priorities
• Lead and develop a team of stewardship professionals
• Manage day‑to‑day stewardship operations and service level commitments
• Champion automation and AI initiatives to improve scalability
• Represent stewardship in enterprise forums and transformation initiatives
• Review technical designs and support system upgrades and UAT

What you’ll bring

• 14+ years experience in data stewardship or MDM
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Business or related field
• Strong hands‑on experience with Informatica MDM
• Proficient SQL skills
• Experience in Commercial Pharma domains (HCP/HCO, CRM)
• Familiarity with Veeva CRM or similar platforms
• Proven track record driving data governance and quality improvements
• Experience with automation or AI‑enabled workflow optimization (preferred)
