Senior Engineer, Power Architecture and Systems Engineer
About the role
Audio and Low-Power AI (LPAI) Systems group at Qualcomm focuses on power‑efficient AI subsystems for XR and always‑on use cases. The Senior Engineer drives power and data‑path analysis, optimization, and architecture of DSP/eNPU subsystems, collaborating with hardware, software, and product teams. Hyderabad, India, on-site.
What you’ll do
- Analyze and optimize power consumption of LPAI subsystems (DSP, eNPU, memory hierarchy)
- Develop system‑level power analysis for audio and AI workloads
- Perform detailed data‑path and memory‑access analysis to identify bottlenecks
- Drive power optimization techniques such as clock/BW voting and workload partitioning
- Collaborate with HW, SW, and PdM teams on power architecture roadmaps
- Execute lab‑based power measurements and correlate silicon data with models
- Support system integration, benchmarking, and commercialization of power‑optimized solutions
- Document power analysis methodologies and recommendations
What you’ll bring
- 2+ years systems engineering experience
- Strong fundamentals in power modeling and analysis
- Experience with embedded DSP and NPU architectures
- Hands‑on with power measurement setups (e.g., Kratos)
- Proficient in Python for analysis and automation
- Understanding of memory systems and data movement
- Experience with RTOS and performance profiling tools
- Knowledge of low‑power optimization techniques
