About the role

Lumilens, building the critical photonics infrastructure that powers tomorrow’s AI supercomputing, seeks a Senior Director of Hardware Engineering. Leads a team of hardware engineers across design, validation, and deployment, drives project execution, and contributes hands‑on to board bring‑up and system integration while traveling frequently to support global teams, vendors, and customers. Bangalore, India, on‑site.

What you’ll do

• Lead a team of hardware engineers across design, validation, and deployment
• Drive project execution ensuring milestones are met with high quality
• Participate in board bring‑up, debugging and system integration
• Support prototype builds, lab validation, high volume manufacturing and field issue resolution
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, firmware, SI/PI, manufacturing)
• Engage with vendors and customers, traveling to sites for troubleshooting, audits, and design reviews
• Oversee hardware development lifecycle from concept to production
• Implement best practices for DFM/DFT, reliability testing, and compliance

What you’ll bring

• 15+ years of hardware design and development experience
• Significant leadership experience in hardware teams
• Proven ability to debug hardware at board/system level using lab equipment
• Strong knowledge of high‑speed interfaces, power delivery, and system integration
• Willingness to travel frequently (international) on short notice

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
