About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Wealth Underwriter in Bengaluru, India, to lead and support moderately complex Wealth Underwriting initiatives within Wealth Investment Management. Day-to-day, the role involves analyzing borrower and collateral financial data for high-net-worth loans, performing CRE collateral underwriting, preparing credit memoranda, and monitoring assigned loan portfolios for covenant compliance and renewals. The position also includes mentoring junior staff, collaborating with peers and managers, and providing input to credit risk management decisions.

  • Review, analyze, and evaluate borrower financial data for moderately complex high-net-worth loans to determine credit worthiness and monitor existing portfolio to identify issues that require an in-de
  • Independently resolve moderately complex business, operational, or technical issues and lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of Wealth Underwriting functional area polic
  • Develop solid understanding of Commercial Real Estate Lending policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements for Wealth Investment Management client as needed
  • Collaborate and consult with Wealth Underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; serve as a mentor for lower level staff
  • Provide input to assist leaders with credit risk management decisions to ensure satisfactory credit portfolio risk examinations

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of Wealth Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Strong expertise in borrower and collateral underwriting
  • Skill in analyzing personal and business financial statements
  • Ability to interpret U.S. tax returns
  • Experience evaluating entity structures and determining global cash flows and key financial ratios
  • In-depth knowledge of CRE collateral analysis, including property performance, cash flow assessment, market risk evaluation, and review of third-party reports
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive credit memoranda and provide well-supported lending recommendations
  • Responsibility for portfolio monitoring, covenant compliance, annual reviews, and managing loan renewal, modification, and servicing requests
