About the role

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Wealth Underwriter in Bengaluru, India, to support Wealth Investment Management clients through Commercial Real Estate Lending Underwriting. The role involves analyzing borrower and collateral risk, evaluating entity structures and global cash flows, reviewing CRE collateral and third-party reports, and preparing credit memoranda with lending recommendations. The underwriter also monitors assigned loan portfolios, ensures covenant compliance, and manages loan renewals, modifications, and servicing requests. This is a full-time position.

What you’ll do

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives and deliverables and contribute to large-scale planning related to Wealth Underwriting
  • Review, analyze, and evaluate borrower financial data for moderately complex high-net-worth loans to determine credit worthiness and monitor existing portfolio to identify issues requiring in-depth ev
  • Independently resolve moderately complex business, operational, or technical issues and lead team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of Wealth Underwriting functional area polic
  • Develop solid understanding of Commercial Real Estate Lending policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance requirements for Wealth Investment Management clients as needed
  • Collaborate and consult with Wealth Underwriting peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; serve as a mentor for lower level staff
  • Provide input to assist leaders with credit risk management decisions to ensure satisfactory credit portfolio risk examinations
  • Perform ongoing monitoring of assigned loan portfolios to ensure credit quality and policy compliance
  • Evaluate loan modification requests, renewals, extension requests, and other portfolio management activities

What you’ll bring

  • 7+ years of Wealth Underwriting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
  • Strong expertise in borrower and collateral underwriting
  • Skill in analyzing personal and business financial statements
  • Ability to interpret U.S. tax returns
  • Experience evaluating entity structures
  • Ability to determine global cash flows and key financial ratios
  • In-depth knowledge of CRE collateral analysis
  • Experience preparing comprehensive credit memoranda
