About the role
Ensono seeks a Senior Mainframe Developer to support, maintain, and enhance critical mainframe applications as a technical lead. The role involves designing solutions using COBOL, CICS, and DB2 while guiding junior team members in a rotational 24/7 shift environment. This position is based in India with locations including Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
What you’ll do
- Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using specified technologies
- Provide technical troubleshooting and resolution for complex application issues
- Conduct performance tuning and optimization of applications and database queries
- Guide junior team members and act as a technical lead
- Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests simultaneously
- Develop technical documentation such as knowledge base articles and SOPs
- Align implementation options with functional and technical business requirements
What you’ll bring
- 10–12+ years of specialized mainframe technical experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CS, IT, or related field
- Proficiency in COBOL, CICS, IMS DB/DC, DB2, MQ, VSAM
- Experience with Netron Frame Technology
- Knowledge of ServiceNow or similar enterprise ticketing systems
