About the role
Dentira is a vertically integrated healthcare procurement platform experiencing rapid growth. The Director of Software Engineering, a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, oversees multiple engineering teams to design, develop, and deliver scalable software solutions powering the platform. Day-to-day work includes setting technical direction, reviewing architecture, guiding distributed systems implementation, collaborating with product and operations teams, and mentoring engineering leaders while fostering a culture of ownership and continuous learning.
What you’ll do
- Oversee multiple engineering teams, driving the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that power Dentira’s healthcare procurement platform
- Set technical direction, review architecture and design decisions, and guide implementation of distributed systems
- Ensure high-quality software development practices
- Collaborate closely with product, operations, and data teams to translate business needs into technical roadmaps, prioritize projects, and manage execution across squads
- Coach and mentor engineering leaders, improve processes, establish performance metrics, and foster a culture of ownership, continuous learning, and inclusive collaboration
What you’ll bring
- Strong foundation in Software Development and Software Design, with experience building scalable, reliable platforms
- Hands-on experience with Distributed Systems and modern cloud-native architectures
- Demonstrated Team Leadership capabilities, including mentoring, performance management, and growing engineering teams
- Proven Project Management skills, with the ability to prioritize, plan, and deliver complex initiatives on time
- Experience in setting technical strategy, defining engineering standards, and driving best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment
- Background working in product-led or high-growth technology companies
- Proficiency with agile methodologies and collaborative tools used in modern software development environments
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
Nice to have
Healthcare or procurement domain experience is a plus
