About the role

Applied R&D at Nokia conducts target‑oriented research to translate findings into product specifications, designs and incremental improvements. The Senior Technical Specialist develops and validates software/hardware components for Lightspan networking products, creates automated test cases, and mentors junior engineers. India, on-site work model, hybrid flexibility available.

What you’ll do

• Validate software for Lightspan family using IP‑based and Layer‑2/2+ protocols
• Develop automated test cases and tools
• Incorporate customer feedback to refine product features
• Collaborate with R&D, product management and support teams
• Deepen expertise in Ethernet, VLAN, QoS, multicast and related protocols
• Mentor junior team members and lead low‑risk projects
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware/software issues
• Enhance software architecture and design processes

What you’ll bring

• Graduate or Postgraduate in Engineering
• 3+ years C/C++ programming
• Linux/RTOS Internals (VxWorks preferred)
• Software upgrades and database migration experience
• Broadcom/Marvell SDK programming
• Real‑time OS development
• Embedded Linux multithreaded environment

Education

Master’s degree
