Lead Information Security Engineer

About the role

Information Security Engineering team at Wells Fargo secures critical banking systems and data. Leads incident response for complex security events, designs and operates Thales CipherTrust cryptographic platforms, and automates security operations using Python, Ansible, and PowerShell. Bengaluru office, on-site work model, with opportunities to mentor a global encryption services team and influence security architecture across the enterprise.

What you’ll do

• Lead computer security incident response for highly complex events
• Conduct technical investigations and post‑incident forensics to identify causes and recommend mitigations
• Provide security consulting on large projects to ensure compliance with policies and standards
• Design, test, and maintain cryptographic solutions across networking, cloud, and endpoint environments
• Automate operational tasks using CipherTrust REST APIs and scripting languages
• Manage high‑availability, upgrades, and patching of CipherTrust platforms
• Develop and enforce encryption policies for Linux/Windows workloads
• Mentor team members and serve as escalation point for technical issues

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years Information Security Engineering experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or technology
• Expertise in cryptographic protocols, algorithms, and key management
• Hands‑on experience with Thales CipherTrust Manager, CCE, CCKM, and IBM SGKLM/TKLM
• Advanced Linux OS proficiency
• Scripting/automation skills in Python, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, YAML
• Familiarity with cloud key managers and PKCS#11 integration
• Industry certifications such as CISSP or CCSP
