About the role

Qualcomm's software CPU (application processor) architecture group develops long‑term CPU software roadmaps and enables commercialization of Snapdragon CPUs across handsets, IoT, automotive, laptops and XR. The Senior CPU Software Engineer will architect HW/SW interfaces, design low‑level firmware for boot and power management, optimize micro‑code, debug critical performance issues and define short‑ and long‑term software architecture roadmaps. What you’ll do

• Architect HW/SW interface for CPU boot and power controllers
• Design and develop low‑level firmware for CPU idle and active power management
• Optimize micro‑code and implement performance enhancements
• Debug critical software issues related to prefetching, speculation and memory ordering
• Define short‑ and long‑term software architecture roadmap aligned with ARM ISA evolution
• Represent CPU SW team in engagements with ARM architects and third‑party partners
• Collaborate across hardware and software teams to influence product roadmaps
• Provide technical leadership and communication across global partners

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years software engineering experience (4 years embedded firmware preferred)
• Experience with C, C++, Java or Python
• Knowledge of ARMv8 CPU architecture
• Familiarity with ARM system specs such as SCMI, PSCI, TF‑A
• Kernel‑level Linux or Windows driver development
