Lead Piping Stress Engineer

About the role

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) seeks a Lead Piping Stress Engineer in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to deliver holistic, value-added solutions across the asset life cycle. The role performs detailed piping stress analysis to ensure all loading conditions are evaluated and that piping systems comply with safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day work includes pipe stress calculations, plant layout coordination, piping mechanical specifications, special studies, and support design, with guidance of junior engineers and multicentre offshore project execution.

What you’ll do

• Perform pipe stress analysis calculations
• Provide plant layout comments and loads to all other disciplines
• Develop piping mechanical specifications
• Conduct special studies
• Prepare special piping (SP) item calculations, drawings, and data sheets
• Prepare special piping (SP) item requisition worksheets
• Create pipe support drawings, pipe support requisition worksheets, and define pipe support locations

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 15–20 years of stress analysis experience in WHP/FIXED/PROCESS PLATFORMS/FPSO/LNG
• Knowledge of Caesar II software to perform flexibility analysis
• Knowledge of support selection and support design, including special support drawing creation
• Well versed in Fatigue/Blast, FPSO Hog, Sag, and structural consideration
• Knowledge of Navis Model / Review Reality is a must
• Good communication skills and ability to manage projects with Multicentre execution Offshore background
• Excellent skill to guide young engineers to perform the work
